M815: Trippy Transitions and Efficient Exchanges: Basic Models of Computing in Rainstorm Summer 2021 (Aug. 14 - 15, 2021)
In this class, we will learn about theoretical computational models including Deterministic Finite Automata (DFAs) and Non-Deterministic Finite Automata (NFAs) and learn how to make and test an NFA using an online tool. We will also touch on the theory of distributed computing by exploring communication complexity: if two computers need to work to solve a problem, how do we minimize the amount of times they need to exchange data? After taking this class, you will have a good understanding of some of the fundamental models that underpin computers.

E582: Intro to Web Development in Rainstorm Fall 2020 (Dec. 05 - 06, 2020)
Workshop based class in which students learn the basics of HTML/CSS and create a website using the skills that they have learned.
