M441: A Crash Course in Game Theory in Rainstorm Spring 2020 (May. 30 - 31, 2020)
Game theory applies not only to games like poker and chess, but also to real-life scenarios such as competition between Lyft and Uber. In this class, we'll explore game theory through various theoretical and real-life "games." We'll learn concepts such as payoff matrices, Nash equilibrium, and Pareto optimality and use them to better understand different strategies and their outcomes. Finally, we'll build upon our analysis of simple games to discuss real-world applications of game theory.
