In 2000 I graduated at the age of 39 from the Monterey Institute of International Studies with a Master of Arts in International Policy Studies. I was on the faculty of the Naval Post Graduate School as a Faculty Associate teaching International and American Senior Officers about American Culture and Cross-Cultural Communication.
